Which Subjects to Concentrate on ?

As u all are already in the Revision phase, u must be confused which subjects to concentrate on. You can look at the areas where IITG is good at. Ashok Gautham has done some research on this, which i am sure will be useful. Here is a LINK to his blog.

Make sure u dont read much of new topics. Just concentrate on perfecting what u have already learned.

  1. hello prasanna, found this blog through gatementor. I just wanted to ask your score in gate-2009.

and one more thing, yeah! are all the iits good, or we should be skipping some of them?

thanx for your views on gate, they seem to be helpful...

  2. I think i got 757. About the IIT's, each IIT is good in different areas. So u cannot really distinguish between them as far as PG is concerned, after all we arent going to study all the courses they teach.

  3. ok, but also tell me how much did you score out of 100 in the paper.

so could I go for iit g or iit roorkee provided they're good at respective courses?

  4. i think i scored some 57.25 or something.

Abt, iitg or iitr, yeah you are right. But you should make your decision based on various other factors too, like placements, specific faculty( is he recognized around the world/india), competition etc. It really depends on what you want.

  5. hi..To get a good score do in need to solve all the questions in the exam..?
How many in questions in minimum i have to attempt or solve correctly to get a good score in gate..?

  6. Nope. absolutely not. There is nothing like an absolute minimum. It is relative competition. Besides, having a minimum on the no of questions u attempt will make way for mistakes. So its better to attempt the questions you are confident about even if it is very less. May be u can go for questions in which you can eliminate 2 options.
